MY COACHING APPROACH

Why am I in the field of health coaching?

Once I discovered I was able to help myself, I became, passionate, obsessed and even more curious.

I was shocked all this information on PCOS was just sitting out there since years. I had seen so many doctors and NO ONE TOLD ME. This meant that I didn’t have to take those pills for 10 years, didn’t have to deal with anxiety and depression and I didn’t have to struggle. IF ONLY, someone had told me.

And that made me want to help any and every one… to lose weight, gain weight, build muscle, become metabolically healthy, improve blood markers, identify food sensitivities or just understand nutrition better.

Another reason I got into this space is because there a lot of misinformation out there. Nutrition is science. What it is not is a belief system. Debunking fake news on fitness and nutrition is something I take seriously. And I do it with proven science.

The times that we live in since the past 3 years have shed great light on the important of being metabolically healthy. People acknowledge and recognize now that health is truly important. Unfortunately, like with any trending topic, there is also a lot of false information about health and nutrition circulating. Vet any nutritional advice you receive in WhatsApp and email forward before you adopt it. Even your news agencies get it wrong. Be responsible. Do your own research or give me a call and I’ll do it for you.

My Unique Approach to Health & Fitness

Have you tried detox teas or water? Or obsessively counted the calories from every piece of food? Skipped a workout and felt guilty? Drank cinnamon water every morning because someone told you to start the day with it to lose weight? Have you "dieted" for three months and lost weight, received lots of compliments, finally fit into those old jeans... only to gain the weight again? Do you drink four cups of caffeine just to get through the day? Or climb a flight of stairs and feel out of breath? Did you promise yourself that this ice-cream was the last one and now you are absolutely not going to touch sugar? Just this last one. That didn't last too long did it?

We have all been there. In fact, every one of the above scenarios are my personal experiences. In a perfect world, we will all be healthy, fit with 15% body fat and a perfect rear that looks amazing in those jeans. But the world isn't perfect and not all of us have the same goals. I, for one, don't want the 15% body fat, thank you very much. What I value is mental agility, controlling my PCOS, nourishing my body and looking fit. This may not be what you value.

Which brings me to my coaching philosophy- build habits that are sustainable for you because health is not a one-size-fits-all. We are all different. I can't possibly force you to do what I did. Because your goals are different. Where you come from and where you want to go is your own path. Your genes, upbringing, your culture, community, the lifestyle of the people you live with and your stresses are all individual to you.

I work on creating an individualized, custom plan for each of my clients after an in-depth conversation and assessment. My clients take the lead on their health journeys so that the habits they learn last for lifetime. Behavioral coaching requires the client to be seriously commitment to their health goals. You bring the sincerity and I'll bring the tools. And together we'll bring out a healthier you who looks, feels and performs better.

I'd like to add that because people are different, I work with what you bring to the table. So the more I can get to know about you, the better strategies I can offer. Maybe you don't have time to hit the gym or maybe you don't like going to the gym. I've seen a lot of people regularly going to the gym and spending and hour an half doing completely counter productive workouts. Women, especially, seem to have a particular affinity to the cardio machines. Let's take another scenario. You're dealing with excessive work pressure and don't have time to take out for your health? Don't feel badly about it. You're not alone. Or you're addicted to working out for two hours everyday? But you can't get that six-pack because... well, you're also addicted to chocolate filled croissants. Maybe you're relatively healthy and active, but feel so sleepy in the middle of the workday?

The handful of situations above are all pretty common. And normal. Here's the thing... the solution to all of these are also simple. The challenge is the implementation. That's where I come in and help you with behavior-based coaching.

My coaching philosophy is to build sustainable habits that will last you a lifetime. That does NOT mean you do what worked for me. It means that you and I, together, understand your body, mind, hopes, dreams, worries, commitments and liabilities, family life, limitations and strengths. As a coach, my goal is to help develop a healthy lifestyle tailor-made for you and your needs.

Understand your body.

Know what works for YOU.

Find your balance.

Why is coaching with me better than short-term diet plans?

Wouldn’t you like it if you got healthier, then remained healthy and never had to diet again?

Studies show 50% of lost weight comes back within 1 year and 80% comes back within 5 years. So, all that yo-yo dieting that you’ve been doing… it doesn’t stick. In-fact losing and gaining fat has an impact on your metabolism. And that’s why short-term diet plans are almost never a good idea.

I have a strong, personal mission to leave this world a better, healthier place. I come from a place of huge empathy and promise to be in your corner as your coach. Your long-term success means my success. I will give you my time and undivided attention. You can tell me where you struggle and share your wins and I will not check the clock because your 10 minutes are up. That’s what I do. I coach. You buy my time, not just a piece of paper with food, timing and quantities. My clients know that they will get a balanced, individualized approach and there will be no restrictive dieting. This means they can comfortably continue eating better to meet their health goals slowly and sustainably. Did I lose you at slowly? I know, I know… we live in a world of instant gratification. But you’ve tried the quick fixes, right? How’d that workout for you?

We spend tens of thousands on clothes, parties, travel, sickness and pills. Try investing in yourself, you’d look great in a pair of unbranded jeans and a black t-shirt. Or even without it. And your self-confidence will sky rocket.

Who's my client?

Coaching with me is an intimate process. I am committed to my client's win and sustained health results.

And so... I don't work with huge numbers of people at the same time.

I expect clients to be genuine in their efforts and serious in their approach towards health.
